OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2012. Within the framework of the visit of the delegation led by the prime minister of the Republic of Ukraine Nikolay Azarov Azerbaijan-Ukraine business meeting was organized by Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) on April 4.

The event brought together over 100 businessmen engaged in agriculture and food industry, power engineering, machine building, information and communication technologies, transport, construction, oil refining and other sectors from both sides.

The deputy minister of Economic Development Niyazi Safarov delivered information on the economy of Azerbaijan, implemented measures for further boosting entrepreneurial activity, as well as favorable business and investment climate in the country. It was noted that the cooperation between Azerbaijan and Ukraine develops successfully. Deputy Minister Niyazi Safarov stressed importance of business forums, business-like meetings and mutual visits in expansion of economic relations between two countries. Deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Victor Mayko stressed his country's interest for further boosting relations with Azerbaijan and assurance further development of cooperation between two countries.

Presentations were made on investment and export opportunities of AZPROMO vitse-president Gulshan Rzayeva, on organization's activities and carried out projects by Azerbaijan investment Company Afgan Isayev. The chairman of State Agency for Investments and National Projects of Ukraine Vladyslav Kaskiv made presentation on investment potential and cooperation perspectives of Ukraine.

Throughout the event bilateral meetings were held between the businessmen.

Within the framework of the business meeting the Memorandum of Understanding on mutual cooperation was signed between Azerbaijan Export and Investment Promotion Foundation (AZPROMO) and State Agency for Investments and National Projects of Ukraine. The MOU considers mutual promotion of investments and implementation of the measures in this direction, interchange of publications and legislative acts concerning new projects of mutual interest and the programs on investment activity, holding business meetings, trainings and seminars for Azerbaijani and Ukrainian usinessmen.
