OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2012. Defexpo India 2012, Land, Naval and Internal Security Systems Exhibition was held from March 29 to April 1, 2012 in New Delhi.

The UVZ Corporation has for the first time displayed its modernized T-90S main battle tank abroad.

The UVZ exhibition stand was opened by Alexander Kadakin Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Russian Federation to the Republic of India, Vyacheslav Dzirkaln Deputy Director of the Federal Military-Technical Cooperation Service and Russian official delegation. Indian and foreign guests were appealed by the exhibition sample.

The UVZ display was attended by the Indian ministry of defence leaders and official European, Asian and African delegations. Oleg Sienko, CEO of OJSC “RESEARCH AND PRODUCTION CORPORATION “URALVAGONZAVOD”, mentioned in his opening speech that Russia will always be leading in top-quality arms manufacture that is in demand in global market.

At the press-conference Andrey Terlikov, Chief Designer of OJSC “UKBTM”, highlighted the advantages of the displayed battle tank. The upgraded tank features higher combat qualities, namely gun power, protection, mobility and command control. “The tank’s combat potential and qualities meet up-to-date requirements. We are positive that our new sample will provoke interest in both the military of India and other countries from the area,” said Andrey Terlikov. According to Indian and other foreign experts, the exhibition sample proved Russia to be a world leader in building armoured vehicles.

As an outcome of negotiations and presentations, UVZ has agreed on contracts for defence products, particularly, modernized T-90S main battle tank.
