OREANDA-NEWS. April 05, 2012. The Government has heard information about the work of five regions of Right-Bank forest-steppe area on livestock development. Heads of Ternopil, Khmelnytsky, Vinnytsia, Kyiv, Cherkassy regions have reported about their activity and the prospects of development, including dairy breeding, depending on the characteristics of the region.

Total within the area there is a small increasing of milk production on commercial farm. This is due to growth in the number capacity of livestock systems is an increase of cattle breeding. However backyard cows are gradually diminishing, so in general there is a slight decline in cattle breeding numbers in all regions, except in Ternopil region.

Heads of regions have reported on taken measures to improve the situation by increasing the number of livestock, increasing its productivity.

Also there is the construction and reconstruction of milk-commercial complex with the proper equipment that will ensure proper quality of received products in all areas. But the Government considers that the pace of creation of large farms, where provided breeding work and mechanization of processes thus reduce the cost of production is not sufficient.

Therefore, Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov emphasized the responsibility of Heads of Administrations for the creation in regional incentives and conditions for increasing cattle numbers, and most importantly - increase productivity of the dairy breeding. "The situation with the production of animal products need to "be reversed", as it was done with providing vegetables, when due to the construction of vegetable stores we managed to stabilize the domestic market, satisfying it with inexpensive and quality agricultural products of own production", - Mykola Azarov said.
