OREANDA-NEWS. April 04, 2012. Today, at the construction site of 750 kV Gribovo substation of FGC of UES in Moscow Oblast, the connection of 220 kV switchgear and 220/500 kV AT-3,4 transformers with 167 МVА monophase capacity to operating voltage is nearly completed. Therefore, the first stage of the Gribovo substation commissioning has started, and the construction of power distribution facilities at energy block No. 4 of Kalinin nuclear power plant has entered its final stage.

 At present, general construction works at 750 kV Gribovo substation with specified transformer capacity of 3,904 MVA are completed by 99%, assembly and start-up of the main electric equipment are in progress.

 At 500 kV Dorokhovo substation, general construction works are completed by 95%, assembly and start-up of the main electric equipment are in progress.

 Construction of 750 kV HV line from the Kalinin NPP to Gribovo and 500 kV HV line from Gribovo to Dorokhovo is completed, now the finished sections of 220kV aerial cable lines from Dorokhovo to Sloboda are being commissioned to the intermediate working committee, and 750 kV HV line from the Kalinin NPP to Belozerskaya has been connected in the project scope. Within the frames of the execution of 220 kV HV Energia3 line, 220 kV HV Poshekhonye–Cherepovets1 line and 220 kV HV Pervomayskaya line with connection to 750 kV Belozerskaya substation and reconstruction of 220 kV open switchgear to RPP-1 220 kV substation, the construction has been completed and five 220 kV overhead electric lines have been connected under the operating parameters.

 Earlier in December 2011, the construction and assembly works were completed under the project of 750 kV Belozerskaya substation expansion. The unique AT 750/500 kV autotransformer was put into operation; 750, 500, 250 kV switchgears were connected. Due to the expansion the substation capacity has increased from 1,251 to 3,003 MVA. 

 Innovation and energy saving technologies are implemented at all power distribution substations of the Kalinin NPP energy block No. 4. Inter alia, in the process of the Gribovo substation construction, for the purpose of enhancing reliability of the equipment operation and reduction of the area required for the substation objects allocation, rigid busbars at 500 kV, 220 kV and 110 kV switchgears were implemented for the first time in Russia. The cutting edge systems of technological processes control, emergency control and protection systems and up-to-date communication systems are also implemented at the substation.
