OREANDA-NEWS. April 04, 2012. Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov demands from the Head of Kharkiv Regional State Administration Mykhailo Dobkin to solve the problem of "shadow employment" in the region. The corresponding task Prime Minister set during a report of the head of the region on social and economic development.

"There is a problem which I want principally to draw attention of the leadership of Kharkiv region on. Our analysis shows that many employees engaged in "informal employment". People work without signing contracts, and they are not provided with minimum wages, social security. So I ask you and demand: do everything possible to protect people", - Mykola Azarov said.

He drew the attention of the leadership of the region that according to results of 2011 year Kharkiv region ranked fourth place in the country in increasing industrial production, but the wages of workers in industry in the region is below the average level in Ukraine. By this rate the region is at 11 place in the country, the Prime Minister stressed.

"The Government has worked for two years on crisis prevention and recovery of national economy. Now the key mechanisms of state support areas clearly established and act. So I expect from the management of regions greater responsibility for the situation and for the level of living of population. Kharkov region has to revive its powerful industrial and agricultural potential and reach the leading position in the country in terms of productivity and human welfare. Mr. Dobkin, this is your main task" - the Prime Minister said.

Mykhailo Dobkin, in turn, assured the Head of Government that to remedy the situation will be taken all necessary measures and he will report to it in late April to the PM on the results. However, he thanked the Government for the support that allowed reviving the work of the state enterprises of Kharkov, especially in engineering.
