FAS Initiated Case against Russian Marine Security Service
OREANDA-NEWS. April 04, 2012. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) initiated a case against “Russian Marine Security Service” Federal Budgetary Organization upon some signs of violating the antimonopoly law, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
According to FAS, actions of “Russian Marine Security Service” violated Part 1 Article 15 of the Federal Law “On Protection of Competition”: the organization fixed a fee and charged economic entities for expert examinations of conformity of the authorized organizations for protecting vessels, sailing under the flag of the Russian Federation, and port facilities. The current legislation of the Russian Federation does not require payments for expert examination.
The procedures for determining the authorized organizations for protecting vessels, sailing under the flag of the Russian Federation, and port facilities, are approved by No.42 Order of the Ministry of Transport of 11th March 2008.
According to the information submitted by “Russian Marine Security Service”, the costs of expert examinations of economic entities to verify their conformity as the authorized organizations (depending on the volume of works, the price varies from 36,940 Rubles to 138,350 Rubles).
The case will be heard on 15th May 2012.
