OREANDA-NEWS. April 03, 2012. In February 2012 passenger traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 1 586 263 people which is an increase of 25,5% compared to February 2011 data. Overall number of passengers who have resorted to the services of Moscow Domodedovo Airport for the period of the first two months in 2012 enumerated 3 433 204 people that is 18,9% more compared with the corresponding period last year.

The number of flights operated in February this year increased 9,4% in comparison with February 2011 and amounted to 16 265 take off and landing operations. The January – February 2012 results 34 402 flights were handled that in 5,4% more compared with the same period in 2011.

In February domestic passenger traffic enumerated to 676 962 people. The increase amounts to 21,4% compared with January – February 2011 figure. For the last two months. The most demanded domestic destinations were: Yekaterinburg, Krasnodar, Saint Petersburg, Sochi, and Novosibirsk. Their passenger traffic 452 thousand people that is an 33,9% increase compared to the corresponding period last year.

International passenger traffic saw an increase of 28,7% in February compared with the last year figure and amounted to 909 301 people; the number of passengers carried in the international sector for January – February period enumerated 2 056 083 people which is 15,6% more if compared with the corresponding period last year. The following destinations were developing dynamically: Dubai, Bangkok, Kyiv, Minsk, Kulob and made 56,2%. To these destinations there were 280 thousand people carried.

In February freight traffic of Moscow Domodedovo Airport amounted to 13 518 tons which is an increase of 1,4% compared with last year figure. In January – February 2012 Domodedovo’s freight traffic increased 4,1% compared with the corresponding period last year and made 24 083 tons.
