OREANDA-NEWS. April 02, 2012. Director General of IDGC of Centre Dmitry Gudzhoyan and CEO of OJSC “Regional Center of Biotechnology” discussed the issues of construction projects of a network of biogas power plants in the Belgorod region, generating electricity from agricultural production waste. The working meeting was held on the site of the biogas plant “Baytsury” in the Belgorod region.

The construction of such facilities, in addition to making “green” electricity and heat, allows to solve the problem of disposal of animal and crop waste, as well as significantly to improve the ecological security of the region. During the visit, colleagues saw the biogas CHP and discussed a number of problems on the creation and development of innovative projects related to the generation of electricity from renewable sources. The meeting discussed issues of Federal law # 35-FZ “On Power Industry” in terms of “green” energy. Following the visit, it was decided to cooperate on these issues.

Collaboration is especially important, since the construction of a network of biogas power plants fits into the project “Smart City — Smart Grid”, whose implementation in the Belgorod region IDGC of Centre is engaged in. Such small distributed generation installations in the future will become an integral part of the 0,4-35 kV distribution grid, as it does not require an expensive development of its own delivery infrastructure, power generation sources are becoming as close to the sites of consumption as possible and solve issues of energy conservation and energy efficiency. In addition to the generation and electricity supply to the grid, a biogas plant will create favorable conditions for sustainable development of livestock and crop production, as well as improve the environmental security of the region.
