Last year Avlita invested UAH 1.7m in health and safety with central focus on working clothes for employees, personal safety equipment, dielectrics and washing materials, as well as equipment for common rooms, provision of sufficient water supply, training on health and safety and medical checkups.

"You can positively say that the situation with health and safety at our company is one of the best among production companies. In 2011 Avlita had no group accidents, fatal accidents and occupational diseases. This is the result of regular careful analysis of actions taken by every employee from the perspective of health and safety as well as ongoing improvement of the health and safety management system at the company. We won't stop on the achieved level and will continue to focus on working conditions, safety, health and life of our employees. Every detail in safety is important, there are no trifles here", said Anatoliy Povkh, Deputy CEO for Safety and Environment, Avlita.

Last year 528 employees working in hazardous conditions had to take a health and safety test covering safety of works, machines, mechanisms, equipment, buildings and constructions, personal safety kits and first aid to people injured during accidents.

"An efficient health and safety management system is a necessary element of a modern production business. All the scheduled activities this year will seek to ensure the safest and the most comfortable conditions for our staff", Mr Povkh added.
