OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2012. Regional Development and Constructions Minister Marcel Raducan today met Turkish Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Moldova Mehmet Selim Kartal, on a courtesy visit to this ministry. The officials discussed prospects for the Moldovan-Turkish cooperation in the regional development and constructions sector, according to the Regional Development and Constructions Ministry's (MDRC) press service.

Marcel Raducan made a retrospective of the main events in the field of policies in constructions, successful experience in regional development. The minister referred to implemented projects and a new appeal of project proposals launched today. Raducan emphasized the cooperation with business people from Turkey.

For his part, the Turkish diplomat appreciated the ministry's work. He pointed out a positive initiative to inform investors about opportunities in the regional development and constructions area, offered by Moldova. Also, Mehmet Selim Kartal said he will further urge and facilitate the carrying out of investment projects with the support of business people from Turkey, and will contribute to MDRC's collaboration with Turkish institutions.

Also, Marcel Raducan expressed willingness to sign, as soon as possible, a protocol on the establishment of a mechanism for periodical consultations on a procedure of purchase of works and services, including consultancy ones, between the Moldovan Regional Development and Constructions Ministry and the Turkish Economy Ministry.

In this context, the Turkish ambassador highlighted a visit to Moldova by the head of the joint economic commission at the Turkish Trade Ministry, due next April.

At the end of the meeting, the sides stressed the importance of the Moldovan-Turkish relations for developing a long-term partnership, the MDRC press service said.
