OREANDA-NEWS. March 30, 2012. Sales and purchases on the cashless foreign exchange market of Moldova made up USD 563,86 mln. in equivalent in February, 9,7% up as compared with the previous month. The average daily sales and purchases on the market were USD 26,85 mln. against USD 23,37 mln. in January.

The purchases and sales of USD made up 67,03% (USD 377,97 mln.); transactions were 29,24% (USD 164,85 mln.) with EUR; 2,93% (USD 16,55 mln.) with RUB, 0,14% (USD 0,76 mln.) with RON; 0,01% (USD 46,4 thou.) with UAH.

The share of sales and purchases of USD grew 1,05 p.p. in February as compared with January; the share of transactions with RUB increased 0,37 p.p. Sales and purchases of EURO decreased 0,99 p.p.; transactions with RON declined 0,21 p.p., with sales and purchases of UAH being at the same level.

In February, 2012 the cashless foreign exchange market of Moldova also saw transactions of Belarusian Ruble, Pound Sterling, Swiss Frank and Japanese Yen, which made about 0,86% of all sales and purchases made on the cashless foreign exchange market of Moldova. The exchange rate of MDL was 11,8821 leis in February against 11,8486 leis in January against USD; 15,7105 leis against 15,2677 leis in January against EUR, 0,3956 leis against 0,3783 in January against RUB; 3,6448 leis (3,5546 leis) against RON; 1,4667 leis (1,4561 leis) against UAH. Sales and purchases on the cashless foreign exchange market include all currency-exchange transactions made in various sectors of the market with the exception of operations made by the National Bank.
