OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2012. To ensure reliable operation of electric power supply during the spring flood discharge period a special flood commission has begun its work within the Company. Among the commission members are representatives of JSC “Yenisei TGC (TGC-13”) (part of LLC “Siberian Generating Company” group of companies) and the Krasnoyarsk Regional Dispatching Office. Within the framework of the preparation activities one is undertaking thorough examination and review of preparedness of equipment, buildings and structures for passage through the flood season and implementing measures meant to ensure contingency situations prevention.

Flood commissions have been created with all Yenisei TGC branches. Under the commissions’ supervision one performs thorough examination of structures, equipment, access routes and motor roads that may become inundated during the flood period. Measures are taken for protection and reliable operation of onshore pump plants during the flood period. One reviews preparedness of hydromechanical equipment, drainage installations, washer devices, water pumping mechanisms and water removal means. Earth dikes and banks are fortified at spots prone to scouring. Special attention is attached to measures ensuring prevention of generating facilities underflooding and response to possible ice clogging. Additional measures are undertaken for water treatment plants preparation for handling influent water with increased content of suspended substances.

One has elaborated plans of interaction and operative information exchange with enterprises, the territorial divisions of the Russian Federation EMERCOM and municipal entities administrations.

The alert crews are completely fitted out with special machinery, mechanisms and materials for prevention of possible emergency situation and flood consequences elimination.

One has provided for constant operative communication with the hydrometeorological services of the presence regions, one carrying out continuous control over the ice cove condition, afflux and water level. One is reviewing operation of mechanical and electronic water level monitoring systems. Schedules of water discharge from storage ponds are being specificated.

In March–April, within the framework of preparation for flood, emergency response drills will be arranged at “Yenisei TGC” enterprises in the course whereof one will train operational personnel actions during the flood and possible inundation period.

The above array of preparatory actions is aimed to ensure reliable operation of the Company enterprises during the flood period.
