OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2012. OGK-3 power stations produced 33.347 billion kWh of electricity in 2011, an increase of 3.8 % compared to 2010. Increased electricity production was driven by increased power consumption in Russia, reported the press-centre of OGK-3.

Electricity delivery increased by 3.9 % compared with 2010 to 31.417 billion kWh.

Capacity factor increased from 43.89 % in 2010 to 45.56 % in 2011 due to increase in electricity production driven by growing power consumption in Russia.

OGK-3 power stations delivered 1.491 million Gcal of heat in 2011, a decrease of 1.3 % compared to 2010, due to warmer weather conditions.

Share of natural gas in fuel portfolio of OGK-3 reduced from 55.28 % in 2010 to 55.10 % in 2011; share of coal increased from 43.37 % to 43.79 %; while share of fuel oil reduced from 1.35 % to 1.11 %

"We were able to ensure high efficiency of sales of electric energy and power generated by OGK-3 facilities at the wholesale market in 2011. In particular, all OGK-3 power stations with exception of Cherepet TPS demonstrated profitable electricity sales in 2011. Our electricity production was also affected by the fact that we obtained the status of involuntary generator for Kharanor TPS, Gusinoozyorsk TPS and Cherepet TPS," commented Gennady BINKO, Chief Executive, INTER RAO — Upravlenie Elektrogeneratsiey (the management company of OGK-3).

The Third Generating Company of Wholesale Electricity Market (OGK-3) was established in Ulan-Ude (Republic of Buryatia) on November 23, 2004. OGK-3 operates Gusinoozyorsk TPS, Pechora TPS, Kharanor TPS, Cherepet TPS and Yuzhnouralsk TPS.

OGK-3's authorized capital of 47,487,999,252 RUB is divided into 47,487,999,252 common registered shares with face value of 1 RUB. The largest shareholder of OGK-3 is INTER RAO UES with 63.93% ownership. Common registered shares of OGK-3 are listed on MICEX-RTS as OGKC (Quotation List B).
