OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2012. Business Activity Index of Uzbekistan APIC 100 made up 64.4 points, which is 10.3 points more compared to January 2012 (54.1), the State Demonopolization Committee of Uzbekistan said.

The main factors of the growth of index is start of execution of contracts on supply of products and raw materials, realization of newly signed agreements for 2012, the growth of exports and others.

The significant growth was recorded in machinery and electrotechnical industry (+26.7 points), agriculture and water management and consumer goods (+10.3), capital repair and construction industry (+10), energy complex, chemistry, oil and gas, and metallurgy industry (+10.6).

The forecast figure for March 2012 made up 72.5 points, which shows optimistic mood of the business. Business Activity Index was higher than 50 points, which shows positive development trend of business activity.

Business Activity Index in industry sector (APIC 100) was developed in June 2010 and calculated based on survey of 100 large and medium businesses. The APIC 100 replaced the Index APIC 50 (based on survey of 50 enterprises).

The index is calculated based on 5 basic indicators, such as new orders, production volume and realization, employment and ready products at warehouse.
