Moldova to Prolong Contract with Moldovan HPP & DTC Power Trade
OREANDA-NEWS. March 29, 2012. Moldova to prolong the electricity purchase contract with Moldovan Hydro Power Plant and DTC Power Trade for 3 months till the end of the first six months of 2012. The Premier charged negotiators on the electricity purchase contract to do this during the sitting of the governmental commission to create a healthier situation in the energy sector of the state.
Within this period alternative sources of electricity have to be identified so that to deter prices for final users from increasing. The head of the government does not agree with the new selling price the Moldovan Hydro Power Plant and DTC Power Trade offers starting from April, 1 2012.
According to him, authorities of Moldova exert every effort to purchase power at an adequate tariff but not at a speculative one. As the premier has noted, during the sitting among other issues the problem of the transit of the power generated by the Moldovan Hydro Power Plant to Romania was discussed.
At the end of March the term of validity of the power supply contracts expires signed with the Moldovan Hydro Power Plant, located in Transdniestria and DTC Power Trade. They offered Moldova to purchase eclectic power within a new contract at a higher price. The Moldovan Hydro Power Plant is going to increase the price by 19,7%, and DTC Power Trade by 23%.
The Moldovan party does not agree with the increase in the purchasing price, does not see any reasons for such drastic soar and thinks it ungrounded, Vice-Premier, Minister of Economy Valeriu Lazar has said.
