Dmitry Medvedev Approved Instructions on Tourism Cluster Development
OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2012. Dmitry Medvedev approved a list of instructions issued following a March meeting on the North Caucasus tourism cluster development.
The Russian Federation Government has been instructed to make decisions on providing tourism cluster facilities in the North Caucasus Federal District, Krasnodar Territory, and the Republic of Adygeya with the necessary energy, transport, and engineering infrastructure, including construction of new airports and renovation of existing ones; developing the logistics systems for bringing tourists to the resorts; and state guarantees for loans raised by investors for carrying out priority projects in the tourism and recreation special economic zones part of the North Caucasus tourism cluster.
The Government has been also instructed to draft proposals on simplifying entry visa rules for foreign tourists visiting Russia; and developing a tourism and recreation special economic zone in Sochi to make future use of the facilities built for the XXII Winter Olympics and XI Paralympic Games in 2014.
The Russian Federation Government and the governments of the Republic of Buryatia and Irkutsk Region have been jointly instructed to draft proposals to extend the borders of the Baikal Harbour tourism and recreation special economic zone in order to include within the zone parts of the Baikal area with tourism development potential.
Separate instructions have been given to the government of the Republic of Ingushetia, OAO Russian Railways, Gazprom, and regional executive authorities.
