OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2012. A traditional St.-Petersburg Technical Fair took place in Lenexpo exhibition center on March 13-15. Within the scope of the Fair three exhibitions took place: Machinery and Equipment, The VI St.Petersburg International Partneriat and High Technologies. Innovations. Investments (Hi-Tech). Ministry of Economic Development of the Republic of Karelia has organized expositions at two exhibitions – Partneriat and Hi-Tech. Scientific and educational institutions, as well as innovative organizations of Karelia have presented more than 30 projects and research results which have caused professional interest in visitors.
The opening of Partneriat exhibition organized by the Government of St.-Petersburg was attended by governor Georgy Poltavchenko, Governor of the Kirov Region Nikita Belykh and other distinguished guests who have got acquainted with scientific research results of Karelian innovators.
Ten foreign states, including Germany, China, Finland, as well as 29 regions of Russia from Khabarovsk territory and Yakutia to the Kaliningrad Region demonstrated their achievements at the fair. Among participants of the exhibitions there also were famous research institutes of our country, representatives of defence and space complexes.
The Karelian company of Nelan-Oxide Plus Ltd., under the direction of Natalia Yakovleva, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, was awarded a prestigious Gold Medal for the project High-Voltage Aluminium Oxide Isolation. Shungiton Ltd. which scientific consultant is Vladimir Kovalevsky, Doctor of Geology and Mineralogy, was awarded a silver medal for the project Development and Production of Banostructured Schungite Product Containing Hyperfullerene Structures and Ceramic Nanofibres. Besides, The Engineering Center of Fire Robots Technology FR, Nelan-Oxide Plus Ltd. and ATM Ltd. were awarded honourable diplomas of Partneriat.
Silver medals were also awarded to projects of seven innovative companies of Petrozavodsk State University, as development of wireless communication networks and touch-sensitive electronics, technologies of timber industry complex are developing actively at the university. As a result, Karelian innovators came back home with nine diplomas and nine medals.
Within the framework of Partneriat exhibition there also took place many business meetings, presentations, a number of partner agreements were concluded. On behalf of Karelia presentation of scientific research results was made by director of ATM Ltd. Sergey Pokorny. He told about created and introduced for the first time in Russia modern uniform information and analytical online-system of continuous control of objects of housing and communal services of Karelia which provides operative control of all objects of housing and communal services, and records current events.
Medals, certificates of honour, special prizes, as well as the Grand Prix were awarded during another exhibition event – High Technologies. Innovations. Investments – on results of the expert appraisal of innovative projects and scientific research results. Visitors of Karelian exposition have shown alive interest to results of research in nanotechnology, biotechnology, and resource-saving projects.
Technical Fair has indicated that Karelia possesses not only creative scientific and engineering potential, as well as real scientific research results which take root in our region and transferred to other regions. Karelian participants of exhibitions have unanimously pointed out that such exchange of experience contributes to promotion of our scientific research results on external and home markets.
