BPC Reaches Agreement on Potash Shipments to China
OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2012. Belarusian Potash Company (BPC, joint venture trader of Uralkali and Belaruskali, and the world leader in export sales of potash fertiliser) has informed Uralkali (LSE: URKA) that it has agreed a contract with major Chinese fertiliser importers Sinochem and CNAMPGC on MOP deliveries in Q2 2012.

USD 470 (on a CFR basis)
Supply volume
400,000 tonnes firm and 100,000 tonnes of mutual optional quantities
Contract period
April 1 – June 30, 2012
A sequent agreement was signed with Chinese customers during a favorable period for the international potash market – the macroeconomic risks are decreasing, the potash stock balance is also gradually declining and the agricultural commodities market is characterized by a growing price of main indicators. Meanwhile, the buyers’ activity is gradually rising in the key potash markets. Signing of this contract will increase the utilisation of Uralkali’s production capacity.
