Vietnam Baosteel Canmaking Holds Groundbreaking Ceremony
OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2012. Co-invested by Baosteel Metal and Baosteel Singapore, Vietnam Baosteel Canmaking Co., Ltd. groundbreaking ceremony is held in VSIP Industrial Park in Binh Duong province, Vietnam. Binh Duong People's Committee vice chairman Chen Qinglian, Chinese Consul General to Ho Chi Minh City Huo Chunlei, Baosteel Metal chairman Jia Yanlin, Baosteel Southeast Asia and South Asia chief representative and Baosteel Singapore general manager Qiu Chengzhi attend the ceremony, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
As one of Baosteel Metal's four major business segments, after years of development, Baosteel Packaging achieves breakthrough in strategic layout, market development, environmental management, technological innovation and brand building. The Vietnam Baosteel Canmaking project construction is Baosteel Metal packaging business's first step in overseas development.
Vietnam Baosteel Canmaking project total investment is about USD 86 million, mainly producing 330 ml and 500 ml two-piece aluminum cans. The project is expected to be put into operation in early 2013 and by then the annual production capacity will reach 700 million cans and it can meet Southeast Asia's growing demand for aluminum beverage cans.
