25 Piglets Were Born on Pig Breeding Complex of Project PARK
OREANDA-NEWS. March 28, 2012. In detached unit of “Titan-Agro” “Pig Breeding Complex Petrovsky" first piglets were born. Two Irish sows of landras and large white strains from the first batch of sired animals brought 14 and 11 piglets already yesterday. Each newborn weighs 1200 grams. At an average, pigs of these strains bring 10-12 piglets, reported the press-centre of Titan.
Staff of the complex decided to give symbolic name Patrick to the first newborn landras piglet in honor of saint protector of Ireland, which will be celebrated in 2 days – on March 17. Patrick was born at 21.20 Omsk time.
After necessary manipulations (chippage of fangs, cutting of tail and watering with mixture for improvement of immunity) the animal yield will be kept with their mothers for the first 30 days, and after this they will be sent to area of growing which is part of pedigree farm. Each pedigree piglet received its own label.
In the next 10 days all 34 sows from the first sired batch should give birth. The animals are subjected to constant control by the specialists of the complex. Since yesterday part of specialists engaged in servicing of the sows moved to around-the-clock work.
Insemination of the animals is continued. More than 700 sows had already passed the procedure. Let us mention, that in all in autumn of the previous year about 3000 head of pedigree pigs grown by Irish genetic company Hermitage Genetics were bought for the object of agro-industrial biocluster of the project PARK.
