Itera Will Carry out Charitable Act for Partially Sighted Children
OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2012. ITERA is to carry out a charitable act within the frameworks of Assistance to Blind and Partially Sighted Children Program on March 17, 2012. The Act includes transfer of 250 books of various titles to day-care centers of the Sverdlovsk Region.
Special library for blind in Yekaterinburg; Resurs, the Centre for Psychological, Medical and Social Support, as well as A Window to the World, a public organization of parents of blind and partially sighted children shall receive the books. It is the third time that ITERA, with an organizational support by Uralsevergaz, its affiliate, carries out this act in Yekaterinburg. Earlier, books were presented to day-care centers in the region in 2006 and 2008.
Books for partially sighted children take into account special features of their visual and tactile perception and contain bright and high definition drawings, large figures with sharp outline and large type, relief stamping, die-cutting of principal characters, moving parts, application work and stuffing with various surface finishes. Among those books are fairy tales by Grimm brothers, Charles Perrault, H.C. Andersen, stories by A. Barto, K.I. Chukovski and fables by I.A. Krylov. A Charitable Fund Illustrated Books for Small Blind Children, an ITERA partner, designs and published those books.
ITERA has been assisting the Illustrated Books for Small Blind Children Program for 13 years. During that time, numerous actions have been carried out in regions where the Company was doing its business. Those included
ITERA plans to carry out the next stage of The Illustrated Books for Small Blind Children Program in September of 2012. The plan includes buying 45 sets of books for foster children of an orphan home in Sergiev Posad and orphan home for children suffering blindness with deafness in the Moscow Region.
ITERA had been awarded Golden Certificates and a Golden Medal of a participant in the Project for its efforts a number of times.
