Tata Power Celebrates Safety Week at Its Jojobera TPP

The programme included activities such as ‘safety quizzes’ that were organised on “Incident reporting and investigation” for employees and “Critical work at site” for stakeholder employees. It also included an exciting ’Hazard hunt’ for employees to encourage them to find the different hazards one must avoid at the site. Safety poster and safety slogan competitions were also conducted for the employees and their families.
Apart from this, two days were dedicated for a special training on Tata Power’s safety vision and safety policies. The training focused on electrical safety, working at heights, firefighting and first aid procedures. A special field visit was also organised for the employees to find out unsafe conditions at the site that can be further improved.
Speaking on the occasion, Dinesh Kudalkar, head, Jojobera station, said, ”We at Tata Power are delighted with the remarkable response received during the entire Safety Week at Jojobera and Power House 6. When it comes to achieving world-class health and safety performance, there's no room for compromise at Tata Power. Our endeavour is to continuously implement such safety measures in and around our area of operation so that not only our plant but our stakeholders benefit from it as well.”
A unique memento was presented to all participants on the final day of the meet. AP Wankhede, head, eastern region operations; Rakeshwar Pandey, president, Tata Power Employees Union, and Mr Kudalkar gave away the prizes to the winners of the various contests and competitions.
