OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2012. Agricultural Bank of China Limited (ABC) recently announced that it officially hired Dr. Xiang Songzuo as Chief Economist, reported the press-centre of ABC.

Born in January 1965, Dr. Xiang Songzuo started work in July 1986 and graduated from Renmin University of China with a doctoral degree in July 1993. He used to be Investment Manager with President Office, Shenzhen Properties & Resources Development Group Ltd., Deputy Director with Capital Planning Office, Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Branch of the People's Bank of China, Deputy Director with Currency & Credit Office and Director with Financial Debt Management Office.

Afterwards, he studied in Faculty of Economics and the Judge Institute of Management, University of Cambridge as a visiting scholar from October 1998 to June 1999, studied for degree of Master of International Affairs (MIA) in Institute of International Relations, University of British Columbia from June 1999 to May 2000, and then took office as Chairman of the Board of Hurray Solutions Ltd. from 2000 to March 2009 and President and CEO of Hurray Holding Co. (a NASDAQ listed company) from March 2009 to October 2009. Dr. Xiang has been the Chief Editor with the magazine Global Business & Finance since September 2008, and Deputy Director of International Monetary Institute with Renmin University of China since October 2009.

Meanwhile, Dr. Xiang Songzuo is also a Senior Consultant with Institute of Applied Economics, The Johns Hopkins University, Vice President of the Advisory Committee of Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum (OMFIF), Advisor of International Monetary System Reform Sub-forum, World Economic Forum, Adjunct Professor with School of Economics, Huazhong University of Science and Technology, and a guest finance & economics commentator with CCTV.
