FAS Discussed Competition on Market of Payment Cards
OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2012. St Petersburg hosted an international seminar “Developing Competition on the Market of Payment Cards”, organized by FAS Russia and OECD Competition Centre in Hungary, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
At the seminar participants from Russia, Hungary, France, Holland, the CIS and such international organizations as OECD and the European Commission discussed in detail all aspects of the functioning of the system of payment cards market, as well as the issues of regulating national competition and related law. Participants also studied examples of the main violations on the market of payment cards.
According to Deputy Head of FAS, Andrey Kashevarov: “The seminar was organized to a high standard, attended by skilled practitioners and experts in this field, and what is the most important – the seminar generated a lively discussion of the items on the agenda. The subject of payment cards is very important in the context of globalization, as free use of payment cards enables all of us to feel comfortable in any country around the world”.
Participants expressed their readiness to ensure effective development of competition on the market of payment cards as well as exchange experience accumulated in this filed.
