OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2012. 3 batches of high carbon chromium bearing steel from Special Steel Division steelsmelting mill 40-ton production pilot line pass NSK's certification check. Its large non-metallic inclusion control reaches A-level standards, internal control quality indicators meet customer requirements, suggesting that the production line is now capable of producing high carbon chromium bearing steel, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

NSK Co. is the key customer of Special Steel Division's bearing steel. The company mainly produces high-end bearings and has very strict high-carbon chromium bearing steel internal quality control. Originally, the steelsmelting mill's 100-ton electric furnace is especially used for the production of bearing steel, now 40-ton production line assumes high carbon chromium bearing steel production responsibility.

To ensure the smooth production of high carbon chromium bearing steel certified material on the 40-ton production line. Steelsmelting mill sets up a bearing steel quality improvement group composed of production & technology section and No2 sub-mill technical staff. They carry out research activities along with manufacturing department professionals. While doing process adjustment on the original 100-ton electric furnace, they repeatedly make experiment on the process and process parameters, adopt new methods to improve the electric furnace tapping condition and control refined alkalinity and ensure refining vacuum treatment effect.

At present, a total of nine furnaces of high carbon chromium bearing steel certified material is authorized by customers.
