This year, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. headquarter factory plans implementation of 15 greenery renovation projects, with over 100,000 square meters of greenery renovation area, includingabout 18,500 square meters of newly added green area.This will not only improve the factory environment quality, but also further evoke the greenery comprehensive function and promote sustainable development of production and environment, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.

Since the 2010 Shanghai World Expo, by large-scale environmental remediation, greenery renovation, landscape reconstruction and adding new green areas, Baosteel Co.,Ltd. headquarter factory environmental quality is improved and greenery's noise dust prevention function is efficacious. This year's greenery renovation is Baosteel Co.,Ltd.'s specific initiatives in further practicing the environmental management concept and enhancing Baosteel green image and it can alleviate the aggravated environmental load brought by steel production, give environmental quality assurance for the production of quality products and promote the harmonious development of society.

This transformation involves No.2 gate, No.6 Jing Road, No 5. Wei Road, No. 3 Wei Road overpass, 2050 hot-rolling (steel honorary forest surroundings), 1420 cold-rolling and silicon steel regions. Greenery renovation project focuses on the greenery optimization of factory main road intersections, entrances and exits and scenic areas. The renovation is mainly plant landscaping, appropriately adding flowering plants and colorful trees. With landscape stones and plants, it creates landscape which fulfill environmental and functional requirements, enhance green space quality and reflect greenery culture.

The green transformation will reflect 2 features: regional and overall environmental enhancement. For instance, "No.5 Jing Heavy Plate No1 Rd railway greenery renovation project takes into account that No.5 Jing Rd and No.2 Weidong Rd entrance are important factory scenic spots, the original good redwood forest will be retained, coral trees and bushes will be removed, and certain ornamental trees and shrubs and ground cover plants will be planted. With No. 2 Weidong Rd entrance, triangle area Metasequoia forest and No 1 Heavy Plate Rd entrance greenery, it will form a harmonious landscape."Silicon steel area greenery renovation project" will give appropriate renovation to silicon steel area greenery, planning systematically on layout, levels, colors and species and improve the overall environmental harmony, so that silicon steel area's greenery level commensurates with its positioning and development.

In addition, this year Baosteel Co.,Ltd. will add 18,500 square meters of green area in developmental areas such as No.4 and No.5 Fa Rd. by digging residue and replacing soil. It will plant camphor and arrange lawns in No. 7 and No. 8 Fa Rd after ground leveling, completely changing the region's outlook.
