New President of Moldova Will Support Structural Reforms
OREANDA-NEWS. March 21, 2012. As speaking before members of Parliament he noted the importance to continue necessary regulating reforms in economy to de-bureaucratize existing procedures, improve business climate in Moldova, spreading the one-stop practice to obtain documents and widely introduce electronic services so that to combat against corruption.
According to him, economic reforms implemented recently in Moldova enabled the country to achieve the significant economic growth and the development scenario chosen is right and must be continued. Moldova is one of the European leaders by economic growth rates, he reminded. However, our country is facing a great challenge to overcome poverty, he said. Serious efforts have been exerted to do this, however, the poverty rat remains high, he said.
The new President thinks its reduction can be facilitated by more active reforms in economy, justice and social areas. The reforms have to result in higher investments in Moldova, creation of new working places, evolution of economic activity and greater receipts into the budget, he stressed.
Alongside with corruption combating measures, this will create prerequisites to lower the poverty rate. Political stability achieved in the state after the president was elected Presidential election will help Moldova’s government implement important reforms.
