ANRE to Inform Customers on Rights in Relation to Suppliers of Energy
OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2012. The campaign is held by the National Energy Regulatory Agency on the occasion of Consumer Rights Day celebrated all over the world.
The campaign “Learn Your Rights” will last a year. Within this period of time ANRE is going to exert every effort to inform consumers that the Agency is not only a regulator of the energy sector, but also plays an important role in protecting rights of customers.
According to the finding of the last report of ANRE for 2011, a number of complaints and requests to the Agency increased and their contents indicate people know little about their rights and duties as consumers of energy resources. Here the campaign is aimed at bringing up a well-informed and educated consumer, able to protect his or her rights; heightening the level of confidence of consumers to state institutions, stimulating settling conflicts by less expensive ways.
The campaign includes demonstration of a number of audio and video runners, publication of promotional materials on key problems energy resources consumers face, on their rights and duties and services the agency renders to consumers. Providing a simpler access to the Agency green line has become the first step of the campaign. Since March, 15 using the green line to file petitions or to be consulted (the number 0-800-10-800) is free.
