OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2012. A delegation from Karelia took part in the ITB 2012 exhibition held in Berlin on March 7-11. More than 11,000 companies and organizations from 180 countries of the world presented their products in 26 pavilions of MESSE Berlin expocentre. The number of professional visitors and guests of the exhibition has made more than 110,000 people.

With the support of the Ministry of the Republic of Karelia of Youth Affairs, Physical Training, Sports and Tourism the tourist potential of Karelia was presented at the Russian stand.

Such companies as Intourist-Petrozavodsk Joint-Stock Company, Nordic Travel Ltd., Tourholding Karelia Ltd., as well as The Big She-Bear recreation center have introduced Karelia to visitors of the exhibition. According to the representatives of the delegation from Karelia, the exposition of our region was a success among participants and guests of the exhibition. The companies have held meetings with international partners, exchanged experience with their colleagues from other regions of Russia on promotion of travel products and creation of joint tourist routes.

There is no doubt, that participation of the Republic of Karelia in the world’s leading travel trade show will promote growth of tourist traffic from Central European countries to our northern region.
