Yanukovych Instructs Government to Improve Standards of Living
OREANDA-NEWS.March 19, 2012. President Viktor Yanukovych has instructed the Government to prepare and submit to the Parliament a set of bills to amend the 2012 State Budget and other legislative acts to implement the public social policy of improving the living standards.
By May 1, 2012 the Government is to recalculate and increase pensions to such categories of citizens as war veterans, disabled family members of war veterans who died, pensioned off soldiers, etc.
Also, by September 1, the Government is to allocate funds to provide prosthetic appliances and wheelchairs for persons with disabilities; ensure treatment to Chornobyl victims with disabilities and building housing for them, persons with sight and hearing loss, and disabled war veterans; cover the budgetary program of treating children with cerebral palsy; cover the program of establishing modern perinatal centers, etc.
Among other things, the Government is also to work out programs and relative legislative acts to make mortgage loans cheaper for the population, modernize and simplify the procedure of vehicle registration, improve the quality of social service, return the USSR Sberbank depositors their savings, create jobs, particularly for the vulnerable population, introduce the wealth tax and so on.
