Industrial Production Reduced 4,2% in January in Moldova
OREANDA-NEWS.March 19, 2012. As the National Bureau of Statistics informs, the decline is explained by 2,5% less volume of production in the processing industry, and 8,9% less volume of production in the energy sector. At the same time, the mining industry demonstrated 41,7% growth this period. Foods and beverages production reduced by 3,9%.
Flour-grinding production declined by 43,8%, cacao, chocolate and confectionery manufacture decreased by 33%. Processing and canning fruits and vegetables declined by 23,3%, wine-making by 6,7%, alcohol distilled beverages manufacture fell by 5,8%. Tobacco manufacture declined by 77%, other non-metal mineral products (glass, concrete, gypsum, cement, etc) production decreased 35,5%, metal production by 33,1%, chemical production by 15,5%, paper and cardboard manufacture by 10,1%.
Printed production and propagation of information materials decreased by 9,5%. Steam and hot water supply decreased by7,3%, rubber and plastic manufacture declined 6,5%, garments by 4,6%. Production of timber and woodwork decreased by4,5%, furniture making declined by 3,9%.
At the same time, production of medical devices, precious and optical instruments increase by47,7%, finished metal items production, excluding machines and equipments, increased by 28,1%, leather, leather items and foot wear manufacture grew by 27,6%. Milk and diary production grew by 18,2%, production of fats, vegetable and animal oils by 12,3%, machines and equipments were produced 11,4% more, textiles production increased by 7,8%. Production, processing and canning of meat and meat products grew by 3,3%.
