IBC Participated at Tourism Fair ITB Berlin 2012
OREANDA-NEWS.March 19, 2012. International Tourism Fair, the biggest tourism industry event, is taking place in Berlin. The fair includes workshops, meetings with international tourism experts, and press conferences. ITB Berlin not only promotes new ideas and global achievements but also presents a wide variety of tourism products, reported the press-centre of IBC.
This year, Kyrgyzstan’s fair stand was presented by the Kyrgyz Association of Tour Operators, Kyrgyz Community-Based Tourism Association, and tour companies such as CAT, Kyrgyz Concept, Tien Shan Travel, Novi Nomad, Edelweiss, Ak Sai Travel and others.
Participation of Kyrgyzstan was made possible through the EU Project on Strengthening Tourism Business Intermediary Organizations, being implemented by the International Business Council, and the USAID Local Development Program (LDP).
On March 8, 2012 the fair participants from Kyrgyzstan held a press conference and presented new promo materials on Kyrgyzstan’s tourism and government measures to develop tourism as one of the top priority sectors of the Kyrgyz economy. Minister of Culture and Tourism Ibragim Zhunusov informed of Kyrgyzstan’ tourism potential and prospects for the development of tourism in the country.
This year participation of Kyrgyzstan in ITB is more impressive than ever. The event is attended by ten Kyrgyz tour operators.
According to Mr. Zhunusov, number of tourists to Kyrgyzstan is increasing. In 2011 more than three million tourists visited Kyrgyzstan. He emphasized that Kyrgyzstan is an amicable, safe and easy-to-get country, which was the first among other Central Asian countries to introduce the parliamentary democracy. The Government intends to give powerful stimulus to the development of tourism industry, to access new markets and to prove the reputation of safe and stable country, which is attractive for tourists.
