Baosteel Chemical Wastewater Treatment Reaches Industry-Leading Level

Up to now, wastewater emission and pollutant concentration significantly decline compared with previous years, waste water TN efflux reaches Shanghai's new version of Integrated Wastewater Discharge Standard one year ahead of time and wastewater treatment capacity reaches industry-leading level, reported the press-centre of Baosteel.
Baosteel Chemical bears the task of Baosteel Co.,Ltd. directly linked factories coking wastewater treatment and its own chemical product deep processing wastewater treatment. In recent years, with the continually rising wastewater discharge standard across nation and in Shanghai, Baosteel Chemical actively carries out wastewater treatment research and wastewater reuse, reduces emission and pollutant concentration, and in 2009 began waste water treatment three-year standard-reaching task.
Baosteel Chemical promotes wastewater treatment from four aspects: source treatment, process improvement, scientific research and wastewater reuse. First, Baosteel Chemical sorts out all wastewater sources and, based on cumulative investigation of more than 1700 sets of data, classifies and disposes of different kinds of wastewater. Some low pollutant-concentration wastewater is returned to process system for reuse. As for water of large volume and high pollutant-concentration, special programs of management and control are developed.At the same time, due to cooperation between Baosteel Co.,Ltd. Energy & Environment Protection Department and Transportation Department, foreign phenol cyanide wastewater has also been effectively controlled. While reducing wastewater amount, these measures also effectively reduce the source wastewater pollutant concentration. Secondly, Baosteel Chemical sets up 18 special improvement projects, renovates on-site equipment and process, increases hardware level and reduces the pollutant concentration in wastewater from the source.
In addition, Baosteel Chemical also actively collaborates with the relevant units within the Group, organizes scientific research and enhances the capacity of wastewater treatment.In 2009, Baosteel Chemical and Baosteel Engineering collaborate with related institutions and carry out post-denitrification and wastewater reuse project, exploring equipment and process technology without any previous experience. At present, post-denitrification renovation project functional assessment has been completed. Wastewater reuse pilot project research has been completed, the renovation process has begun and a number of patents and technical secrets have been genarated.
