OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2012. There has taken place a meeting between the representatives the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports of Ukraine and the Senior Advisor for Investment of the Department of the Eastern Partnership and Central Asia Countries of the European Investment Bank (EIB), Mr. Boris von Stein Kamensky.

During the meeting there were discussed a number of key areas of cooperation between the EIB and the Ukrainian government institutions. In particular, it has been defined the common interests of prospects and long-term preferential lending to sectors such as reconstruction of existing and construction of new pre-school institutions, the development of production facilities of vocational education (especially - introduction of advanced, including for EU markets, products of environmentally friendly packaging) as well as restoration by Ukrainian enterprises of serial production of laboratory and other training equipment for needs of educational institutions of our country.

The talks had taken place in a business and a friendly atmosphere that was especially emphasized by Mr. von Stein Kamensky who would soon return to the headquarters of the EIB in Luxembourg with a package of offers of the Ukrainian ministries and agencies. The investment abilities of the EIB for the Ukrainian projects in relevant field - are more than 300 million Euros.
The European Investment Bank plans to invest 3.7 billion Euros in implementation of projects of the Eastern Partnership Countries in the energy sector, telecommunications, transport, infrastructure aimed at environmental protection. Also, 1.5 billion Euros - this is a line for private investors, particularly foreign direct investment from EU countries that can be involved in the Ukraine. There is operates the Fund of technical support, which will provide additional financial services, particularly in those projects in which Ukraine takes part.
