TATNEFT Developed New Efficient Technology
OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2012. A technology of water dumping and utilization of the produced water in the cluster wells has been developed and tested at TATNEFT Company, reported the press-centre of TATNEFT.
Selection of the technology has been implemented jointly by the specialists of TatNIPIneft and NGDU "Yamashneft." An experimental technology increases the operational efficiency of watered oil wells through eliminating the formation of emulsions during the liquid lifting process and products treatment, as well as through reducing the costs of the water treatment for the reservoir pressure maintenance. The method proposed provides for a gravity separation of liquid coming from the reservoir into crude oil and water down in the hole: they are lifted to the surface through individual channels. Following this the produced formation water is injected into injection wells of the same well cluster using the same pump, which lists the well production to the surface.
This process solution eliminated the injection of fresh water purchased at the Kama water intake and allowed reducing electricity costs by reduction of the water injection at the cluster pumping station and the liquid pumping costs.
The pilot operations were carried out at Arkhangelskoye field of Utyashkinsky area of NGDU "Yamashneft" as part of the resource saving program implementation aimed at reducing energy resources consumption and improving the efficiency of field development and crude oil production of oil in general.
Arkhangelskoye field of NGDU "Yamashneft" is a proving ground to test the energy-saving technologies. As a result of wide application of new and innovative solutions for the development and operation of the fields with heavy geological conditions NGDU "Yamashneft" has achieved a significant reduction in energy costs. This is a site, where the Company has implemented a complex scheme of the energy-efficient production, gathering and crude oil treatment system: there are about two dozen of the latest technologies implemented aimed at reducing energy costs for crude oil production by 18-20 percent. The concepts applied include the technology of dual completion and production/injection, introduction of multi-phase pumps, injection of polymers of various modifications, utilization of associated petroleum gas for power generation and crude oil treatment, operation of wells using pumps with chain drives and other.
