OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2012. Russian leading automotive leasing company (according to rankings of Rosleasing association, the rating agency Expert RA and the Leasing Review journal), Europlan has announced financial and operational results for 2011, reported the press-centre of Europlan.

For the previous year the company has demonstrated strong business performance and has strengthened further its leading positions in car leasing. In 2011, with numerous lessees, Russian enterprises, organizations and businessmen, Europlan concluded 21936 financial leases of automotive transport, special vehicles and equipment for the sum of more than 34.7 billion rubles (1.2 billion US dollars). It represented 60% increase in business volume in comparison to the year before.

Europlan contracted 98% of new business in its main leasing segment of automotive vehicles. During the year, the company proved its leading positions in this very market segment that was confirmed by rankings of the rating agency Expert RA and the industry reports. In November 2011, Europlan was independently voted The Best Leasing company by the Russian automotive dealers. In Europe, Europlan was ranked 22nd by automobile leasing contract volume and 20th in commercial vehicles leasing contract volume by Leaseurope.

In 2011, Europlan leased record 20737 units, particularly, automobiles, trucks and buses, special transport and self-propelled machines to Russian companies in 378 cities. The company has expanded its regional presence, increasing the number of its offices to 75. Around 52% of its business was conducted in regions beyond the Central federal area. Europlan has financed thousands of small and medium size Russian companies (with less than 100 employees) that presented 82% of its volume of contracts.

By the end of 2011, the total assets of the company have reached 646 million US dollars (according to non-audited IFRS). Europlan has attracted 5 billion rubles from international and Russian funding sources, in particular: 2 billion rubles from Sberbank, 20 million US dollars from Black-Sea trade and Development bank, 1.2 billion rubles from Gazprombank, 0.6 billion rubles from BNP Paribas and 30 million Euro from KfW IPEX-Bank. The company own capital has amounted to 192 million US dollars that exceeded the previous year figure by 49%. This level of capital made Europlan one of the most capitalized leasing companies in the country.

The year 2011 was marked for Europlan by expansion and diversification of its financial services, aimed to satisfy various Russian business demands on corporate cars. In 2011 Europlan purchased ex-Santander Russia bank and renamed it to Commercial bank Europlan.

In October 2011, Europlan was rated AAA-rus by the National Rating Agency and in December 2011 - rated BB- (stable) by Fitch Ratings.

Being the leader of the Russian automobile leasing market and holding a significant market share, the company has continued to develop cooperation with representations of car manufacturers in Russia, importers and dealers. In 2011 the vehicle were purchased for leasing from 2567 dealers accross the country. Within these programs Europlan clients could buy vehicles of more than 35 brands with significant discounts and on special leasing terms.

According to Europlan vice-president of business development Alexander Mikhailov, 2011 was marked for the company by record number of leasing contracts. In 2011, Europlan managed to conclude 53% more automotive leasing contracts (by number) that outperformed 49% Russian automobile sales growth, - he stressed. - We intend to enhance the volume of contracts in 2012 and, being the leading car leasing company, deliver financing for car purchases of the best quality in the country.
