OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2012. Governor of Yaroslavl Region Sergey Vakhrukov visited NPO Saturn with a working visit.

Governor of Yaroslavl Region Sergey Vakhrukov and NPO Saturn chief executive officer, chairman of the Yaroslavl regional branch of the Union of machine builders of Russia Ilya Fedorov reviewed the execution of the government defense order program related to aviation and special-purpose applications placing particular emphasis on the implementation of the company’s international orders.

Another key subject of the meeting was the social policy of NPO Saturn. The new social initiatives of the company through the last few years earned a high appraisal from the region’s head. Being one of the largest businesses in the region, NPO Saturn demonstrates a good example of a socially-responsible company. Despite the challenging economic period linked to the past world economic crisis, the company continues to implement a well thought-out social policy. Investing in people is based on a strong economic justification: well-being of the company’s employees and their families predetermines productivity and stability of labor, which translates into economic prosperity of the company as a whole.

The NPO Saturn social programs span providing employees with new housing, health care, summer camps for recreation of the company employees’ children as well as support of athletic, youth and veteran organizations and many more.

Last year the company launched several social programs simultaneously. They include the housing program unprecedented in the industry: new apartments to the best employees. To date 70 families have already received the keys from brand new apartments built using the company’s own means. The apartments are provided at their nominal cost on an interest-free hire purchase basis with a 15-year payment term and no down payment.

The company plans to continue construction of new housing for its employees. This year the company’s employees will be provided with monetary funds for paying off a portion of interest on the mortgage loans emitted by the VTB24 bank (closed joint-stock company) for purchasing and construction of new homes.

One of the company’s recent initiatives is the “Saturn discount program”. Expanding this program further, starting from February 2012 the employees of NPO Saturn working at the company’s main industrial site in Rybinsk are given a discount when buying a combo meal at their corporate lunch, as long as it is catered by the NPO Saturn catering service while the cost of one such hot meal doesn’t exceed 30 rubles.

The present-day NPO Saturn is not just a machine-building company, it is also a large-scale research and enlightenment center that opens the door to various professions to people not only in Yaroslavl Region but all over Russia while making a substantial contribution to the formation and development of scientific and engineering ideas. Nowadays on the premises of NPO Saturn you will find a scientific-engineering library, an exhibition hall (company’s museum), a new state-of-the-art NPO Saturn training center that continues its development as a competence center expanding its outreach and the list of companies some of which belonging to United engine corporation that sends its employees here for high-quality training.
