OREANDA-NEWS. March 15, 2012. The volume of orders for fast trains "SKODA" for Ukrainian railways can be increased. This was announced by vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Infrastructure Borys Kolesnikov, following a meeting with the Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic Pavel Dobesh.

During the meetings with Minister of Transport of the Czech Republic Pavel Dobesh and the management of the company "SKODA TRANSPORTATION a.s" Borys Kolesnikov discussed expansion of the cooperation. Sides talked about the possibility of increasing the order of trains "SKODA" for Ukraine, which in turn is closely related to the localization of manufacturing these trains in our country. "Serious order to "SKODA" require localization of manufacturing these trains in Ukraine", - vice Prime Minister of Ukraine said.

According to Borys Kolesnikov, there is intent to update the Ukrainian rolling stock due to high-speed double trains "SKODA". "We plan to use rolling stock "SKODA" between cities, distance between them exceeds 300 km, - Borys Kolesnikov said - we will need approximately 50-60 wagonages to do this".

Recalled on March 13 in the Czech Republic transferred a two-story electric train manufactured by "SKODA VAGONKA a.s" for Southern Railway. Borys Kolesnikov in the framework of a working visit to the Czech Republic together with experts of Ukrainian Railways inspected the cars and drove in a new train on the test ring of a range of "SKODA TRANSPORTATION as" in Tserhenitse (Czech Republic).

Under the agreement, South rilways will get two of these trains that will run on the ring Kharkiv-Dnipropetrovsk-Donetsk-Kharkiv - that is, provide the connection of three major cities of the East.
