OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. Kaluga Turbine Works JSC (KTZ JSC), a part of Power Machines company, has manufactured and successfully tested a 30 MW steam turbine for Arkhangelsk Pulp and Paper Mill (town of Novodvinsk).

KTZ JSC and ОАО Arkhangelsk PPM entered into a contract to supply the equipment in the first quarter of 2011. The conditions of the contact included production of a 30 MW PT-25/30-8,8/1,0 steam turbine and the supply of other equipment – a generator manufactured by Electrotyazhmash-Privod LLC (town of Lysva in the Perm Territory), PCS, as well as execution of installation supervision and commissioning of all systems and equipment. Within the frameworks of this project KTZ JSC acts not only as the steam turbine manufacturer, but as its general supplier too.

The steam turbine has been successfully tested at the manufacturer’s test bench in the presence of the customer.

The new turbine manufactured by KTZ JSC is going to replace a worn out unit of the same capacity by another manufacturer. ОАО Arkhangelsk PPM is carrying out a large-scale technical upgrading program, according to which KTZ JSC is to supply its power generating equipment.
