Merger of MONTRIVE CORPORATION and NARA CAMICIE CO., LTD.
OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. Two subsidiaries of Sumitomo Corporation ("Sumitomo Corporation"; Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President and CEO: Susumu Kato), MONTRIVE CORPORATION ("Montrive"; Head Office: Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo; President: Naoyuki Morita), and NARA CAMICIE CO., LTD. ("Nara Camicie"; Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Masashi Miyauchi), will merge as of April 1st, 2012, as part of strengthening management foundation and growing its revenue. The surviving company "Montrive" will change its name to Sumisho Brand Management Corporation (see Reference 2 [Overview of Merged Company] for details)

"Montrive" joined the Sumitomo group in October 2004 as a German brand "FEILER"'s exclusive importer, and is in the business of planning, importing and sales of "FEILER" Chenille woven hand towel, bags and other processed goods.

[Purpose of Merger and Future Development]
After the financial crisis in 2008, Japanese consumption style has changed significantly, affecting the apparel, fashion, and living industry. For the company's sustainable growth, since last year "Montrive" and "Nara Camicie" had been consulting merger in order to pursue its business effects. "FEILER" and "NARA CAMICIE" are both based on European sensibility, technology and tradition that have been favored from customers beyond generations. The two brands also have common stance towards manufacturing and pursuing high quality products. As a result, the decision was made for the two companies to merger.
After the merger, the two companies will unite its knowledge to strengthen the foundation of the company (such as streamlining management of general business, logistics and planning), to widen high quality service for customer satisfaction, and to globalize the two brands centered in Asia. In the future, deployment of new brands to follow "FEILER" and "NARA CAMICIE" will also be considered as part of increasing its revenue.
