Other issues discussed included planning and organisational matters and the quality of service provided by the company’s regional units.
In his report KEGOC Chairman Bakhytzhan Kazhiev stressed the need to improve production and financial results, increase cost efficiency and improve safety. Particular attention was given to repair work scheduled for 2012 and preparations for next autumn and winter. The meeting also set out targets for investment projects to develop the national grid. Successful investment projects will improve the quality and reliability of energy supply, reduce KEGOC’s environmental footprint and improve the company’s competitiveness.
In line with these targets the company has continued to engage Kazakh contractors to carry out work and provide goods and services. In 2011 Kazakh contractors accounted for 60% of the total.
