OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. PrivatBank will transfer more than UAH174.3 million to the Deposit Guarantee Fund for individuals during the first half of 2012, becoming the largest donor of the Fund in the history of its existence. According to the Bank’s press service, the contribution of each bank is determined by the volume of its deposits, and PrivatBank is not just the national leader by depositors’ confidence, but also provides the steady growth of its deposit portfolio. The estimated amount of PrivatBank’s contribution would be at least UAH350 million for the entire 2012.

As a result of 20 years of its activities PrivatBank has become the largest savings bank in Ukraine , - said Deputy Chairman of PrivatBank Yuri Kandaurov. - Since the foundation of the Deposit Guarantee Fund, we have transfered the largest contributions to it; actually becoming the guarantee of the security of savings  for all Ukrainians."

According to the banking research, conducted by Gfk Ukraine, almost every second investor in Ukraine keeps his savings in PrivatBank. According to the PrivatBank’s press service, the number of depositors in the bank increased by 5% up to 5.26 million clients in January. The total amount of individual deposits in PrivatBank grew by UAH1.702 billion up to UAH59.2 billion for the first month of 2012.

PrivatBank is the largest Ukrainian bank and the leader of the Ukrainian retail banking. Daily, PrivatBank serves 1.5-2 million customers. At the end of 2011, the bank's assets reached UAH145.1 billion, equity - UAH16.7 billion. 3’394 branches and offices, 7’504 ATMs, 3’937 self-service terminals and 54’486 POS-terminals proceeds now in the bank network. PrivatBank is a member of the Deposit Guarantee Fund for individuals since 1999.
