OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. Association of Enterprises of Food Industry of Uzbekistan is planning to implement 33 investment projects on construction, reconstruction and modernization of enterprises worth US.5 million.

Among the interesting project is construction of plant on production of fast food products with use of sublime half-finished products from vegetables and fruits on the base of Kontinent-N Yog’ Moy (Navoi region) in 2013-2014.

Kontinent-N Yog’ Moy will also construct confectionary plant in 2014-2015, which will process cocoa beans. Some US million will be invested to the project.

A plant on production of dry yeasts will be constructed on the base of Fatih-lazzat-Maya in Tashkent region in 2014-2015, while the enterprise on production of iodine salt and salt cake in Karakalpakstan in 2012-2013.

Khorezm Shakar will invest US.5 million to expand production of granulated sugar. The capacity of the plant will reach 390,000 tonnes a year.

The enterprises on processing fruits and vegetables, meat and milk were not included to investment projects, but it is planned to construct 44 enterprises on processing milk with total capacity of 20,300 tonnes a year and reconstruct 74 enterprises, construct 47 meat processing plants with total capacity of 10,100 tonnes a year, as well as reconstruct 43 plants, and build 78 enterprises on processing fruits and vegetables with total capacity of 40,700 tonnes, and reconstruct 26 enterprises due to own resources of the companies and loans.

Pravda Vostoka newspaper reported that absolutely all regions of Uzbekistan need to construct new and reconstruct existing enterprises on milk processing. The construction of new enterprises on fruit and vegetables and meet will be conducted in all regions, while existing enterprises will be reconstructed only in selected regions.

The Association said that the country will achieve the growth of canned meat by 100% by 2016, edible oil from untraditional seeds by 76.5%, cheese and brynza – 66.7%, butter by 54.8%. The growth of edible oil will make up 7.6% and tomato paste – 16.7%. Exports will rose by 72.1%.
