OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. Azerbaijan and Qatar are getting ready for signing a new agreement on cooperation in Information Communication Technologies (ICT) field.

The report from Communication and Information Technologies Ministry of Azerbaijan says that Minister Ali Abbasov noted that bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Qatar are developing in ascending order.

" In recent years cooperation between our countries developed even more which reflected cooperation in tourism sphere. In this connection I want to note launch of flights from Doha to Baku by Qatar Airways company",- the report says citing the Minister.

Speaking on Azerbaijan’s purpose in participation in Arab Summit Connect, A. Abbasov told of intention to share experience with Arab countries in drawing foreign investments in ICT area. The Minister also told of the project on creation of Trans Eurasian Super Information Highway (TASIM), which is Azerbaijani analog of Arab ICT highway and aims at removal of digital inequality between the West and Asian Pacific region.

In his interview he also said of plans to increase technical education quality and other projects of this direction by 2020, according to development philosophy connected with achievement development in space, water and land.
