OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. Chongqing Development and Reform Commission recently released the “List of 2012 Chongqing Major Investment Projects” which showcased 100 projects looking for investors globally and provided a guide for overseas capital to invest and layout in Chongqing. 

The 100 project covers automobile & motorcycles, equipment manufacturing, chemicals, materials, textile, high-tech, the flow of commerce, agriculture, real estate, tourism, etc. Enterprises investing for those projects will receive support in fund, energy, land, and approval, etc. It is reported that during the year Chongqing will ensure significant progress of 40 projects of them.

The Liangjiang New Area plans to introduce an investment amount of RMB 13 billion for the construction of finished automobile and plate bases. The aim of this project is to realize an annual production capacity of 300,000 finished vehicles, 10,000 refitted cars, 300,000 motors and galvanized plates for automobiles.

District and counties such as Ba’nan and Jiangjin, in addition to Liangjiang New Area, also intends to introduce finished vehicles. Ba’nan District plans to introduce finished vehicle projects with an investment amount of RMB 5 billion; and Jiangjin District intends to introduce investment for the production of micro vehicles with an investment amount of RMB 3.5 billion.

Aviation projects have become the “new fashion” of the equipment manufacturing industry. Yongchuan District, Dazu County, and Liangping County intend to introduce investment for the aviation industry this year.

Yongchuan District plans to attract investment totaling RMB 6 billion to build assembly lines of general aviation equipment; Dazu County plans to introduce investment totaling RMB 2 billion to build an aircraft model competition & experience base, an aviation technology expo centre, an aircraft training center, a general aviation equipment processing base, etc.; and Liangping County intends to develop ultra-light aircraft manufacturing projects by introducing investment totaling RMB 3.5 billion for ultra-light aircraft manufacturing, pilot training, aviation exhibition, etc.

Unlike previous years, in this year’s “investment menu”, several districts and counties began to turn to the electronics and information industry represented by laptop computers.

For instance, Dadukou District plans to introduce an investment amount of RMB 5 billion and introduce famous domestic and foreign security companies to develop the Internet of Things technology of security protection by relying on Hikvision Digital Technology Co., Ltd.; Fuling District plans to plans to attract investment of RMB 2 billion to build a laptop computer printed circuit board production base and to realize a monthly production capacity of 6 million square chi (approx. 666,667 m2) of high density interconnect (HDI) printed circuit board; Yubei District would like to attract investment of RMB 1.1 billion for the development of computer parts production projects, producing touch panels, keyboards and lower and upper cover accessories of laptop computers; Hechuan District intends to introduce RMB 5 billion for the production of laptop housing; and Jiangjin District wishes to promote the development of cloud computing projects by introducing RMB 4.4 billion for the construction of high-tech industry R & D and manufacturing bases, high-tech achievements promotion bases, large-scale IT service outsourcing bases (cloud storage, call center), smart equipment R & D and manufacturing and OEM bases.

Reconstruction of the old downtown area and the development of new urban area and business circles also need large amount of investment as the “source of blood”. Yuzhong District, for instance, wishes to introduce RMB 20 billion for the reconstruction of Chaotianmen area. The project covers a land area of 138 mu (or 9.2 ha) with the total construction volume of 850,000 m2. Business offices, commercial spaces, apartments, transportation and other facilities will be constructed in this project. In addition, Yuzhong District also plans to introduce RMB 10.8 billion for the reconstruction of the old downtown area, involving the development of Jieyue Street, the Mass Art Centre, Lower Xiaojiawan, Luzumiao, etc. The land area for commercial and residential use totals 1.3 km2.

In addition, Dadukou, Yubei, Jiangbei, Nan’an, etc. will also promote the development of real estate industry. The Diaoyuzui Peninsula under the development scheme of Dadukou District boasts a construction area of 6.5 km2, and facilities such as large-scale conference and forum center, high-end office buildings, hotels, and premium/regular residence will be built with a required investment amount of RMB 40 billion. Jiangbei District plans to develop real estate of the Guanyinqiao Business Circle and the urban complex integrating office buildings, business facilities and apartments with required investment amount of RMB 12 billion.

Jiangjin District wants to build the Shuangfu Amusement Center by introducing RMB 12 billion for the construction of a large playground, an indoor ski slope, badminton and tennis courts, and a health preserving center.

Ba’nan District plans to introduce RMB 8.2 billion to develop the East Hot Spring integrated tourism project. Its primary aim is to make use of the rich local geothermal resource to build such facilities as the Hot Spring Town, Water World, and support facilities of hot spring communities.

Dazu is to introduce RMB 10 billion to promote the construction of the grand tourism attraction of Dazu Rock Carvings, including the construction of Fodu Ecological Grand View Garden and the tourist reception center, the reconstruction of temples and attractions, the construction of Fifty-ladder Holiday Resort, etc.
Fuling District plans to attract investment of RMB 1 billion for the construction of a refined oil trading center and four gas stations to meet the market demand for refined oil.

Ba’nan District targets its investment plan on the dinner table of the people, and wants to introduce RMB 700 million for the development of the “One City, One Thousand Stores” community service project. And the primary plan of the project is to build 1,000 community pasture beef fast food workshop and 1,000 community farm produce distribution outlets.
