SUEK Produced 92.2 mln Tonnes of Coal in 2011
OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. Over the 12 months of the year 2011 the operations of the Open joint-stock Siberian Energy Coal Company (JSC SUEK) produced 92.2 mln tonnes of coal. Compared to the same period of the previous year the production grew by 3%.
Sales volume in 2011 went down 2% against the same period of the previous year, amounting to 88.9 mln tonnes of coal. As many as 55.2 mln tonnes of coal were sold, which is down 10% compared to last year, with 40.9 mln tonnes from the above amount shipped to electric power-generating facilities.
The international market coal sales went up 16% and amounted to 33.7 mln tonnes of coal; the Company's own coal exports grew 17% and amounted to 30.0 mln tonnes of coal. The major international consumer markets are
EBITDA in 2011 amounted to 49.4 bln roubles, up 74% compared to last year.
