New Social Policy Gives Incentives for Employment of Youth in Ukraine
OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. In the framework of new social policy one of the primary tasks will be creation of jobs for young people. This was announced by vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko on air of the TV-program "Big Politic with Yevgen Kiselyov".
"First of all, we need to stimulate creation of the first jobs for young people. Unemployment of youth now is almost in three times higher than general unemployment countrywide. The economy loses the most active and productive professionals" – Sergiy Tigipko said.
Vice Prime Minister proposes to encourage employers to create the first job for young professionals, in particular, by eliminating costs to social funds for a year to address this problem.
"Another powerful incentive is the implementation of the contract between an employer and a student. Under this contract, the employer will invest in education or training of the specialist, who, in turn, will have to work some time in the company. Such contracting radically will improve the quality of training" - said the official.
Sergiy Tigipko noted that the same incentives should be introduced for those businesses that will employ people of pre-retirement age.
Additional opportunities for job creation, according to vice Prime Minister is provided in a new version of the law "On Employment", which the Ministry of Social Policy will soon submit to the Cabinet of Ministers. This document was prepared based on the experience of Italy, France and the United States.
"I am confident this bill will work as to reduce unemployment and to improve the investment climate in general" - the Sergiy Tigipko noted.
