Vice PM of Ukraine Insists on Introduction of Taxation for Richness
OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. The introduction of richness taxation and the transactions with the offshore zones is extremely necessary for the implementation of initiatives within framework of the New Social Policy. This was announced by the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Minister of Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko on air of the Inter TV channel.
"Now when we need to execute new social initiatives we can't do without richness taxation and offshore companies transactions. I insist that these laws need to adopt in the near future," said the Vice Prime Minister.
He said that revenues from these taxes are expected at around 3 billion UAH each year. These funds will be aimed at the payment of pensions.
Among others sources of financial support for increasing social benefits under the New Social Policy Sergiy Tigipko called excess of profits plans of the State Budget and the Pension Fund budget due to economic growth (about 13 billion UAH), revenues from the legalization of the labour market and wages, as well as revision industry benefits.
Sergiy Tigipko expressed confidence the new social policy, and in particular provided under this policy increasing social benefits would be realized.
"We have offered a society 17 social initiatives, they are very important. Such range of issues of changes in social policy there have not been," Sergiy Tigipko underlined.
Recall, in the autumn of last year Sergiy Tigipko raised for discussion with the public the bill on taxation of luxury goods and luxury property. In particular, the document provides additional taxes on expensive cars, airplanes, motorcycles, big houses and plots of land, luxury goods and clothing, cost from 2 thousand Euros. In addition, the Ministry of Social Policy has prepared a draft law on the implementation of12-percent tax on transactions with the classic offshore zones and proposed to expand the list of these zones to 70.
