OREANDA-NEWS. March 13, 2012. The staging of the UEFA European Football Championship this year will be able to increase entrance the flow of foreign tourists to Ukraine by 30-40%. Such thought was expressed the Head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Tourism and Resorts Yelena Shapovalova that opened Ukrainian stand at the international tourism exhibition (Travel Trade Show) in Berlin ITB.

"UEFA European Football Championship 2012 is a step on the way to big tourism. We hope that the championship will provide an opportunity to increase the flow of traveling to Ukraine for at least 30-40%," – the head of the State Agency of Ukraine for Tourism and Resorts said. According to her, Ukraine has prepared reasonably for the football championship and now presents its achievements at ITB.

As the head of Ukrainian delegation at the Travel Trade Show in Berlin, ITB, which has the status of the world's largest exhibition of tourism, is a unique opportunity to demonstrate to the international community not only preparation for the Euro 2012, but overall tourism potential of Ukraine.

Ukrainian stand at the ITB has joined representatives of both state and private tourism sector. Leading Ukrainian tour operators, air carriers and hotels offer their product in Berlin. Geographically, the emphasis is on cities hosting Euro-2012 (Kyiv, Lviv, Kharkiv, Donetsk), and Odessa and the Crimea.
