World Nuclear Energy: 1 Year after Fukushima
OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2012. "World nuclear energy: 1 year after Fukushima", it is the main theme of the 4th ATOMEXPO 2012 International forum, which is to be held on June 4-6, 2012 in Moscow.
Organizer of the event is Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation.
About 1200 delegates from the largest Russian and foreign companies of the industry, as well as the state and non-governmental organizations gathered on ATOMEXPO 2011 last year to discuss the threats facing the industry because of the accident at "Fukushima Daiichi" NPP on March 11, 2011. The participants analyzed various scenarios for the further development of the industry and came to the opinion that it was possible to speak definitely about the future of the nuclear energy not earlier than in a year.
That year was to be one of the most difficult in the history of the atomic industry; the disaster in Japan called into question the future of global nuclear power. How strong was the influence of the crisis in Japan on the development of the industry in other countries? What measures should be provided during the design of nuclear power plant in order to avoid such situations? Experts from around the world will meet in June in Moscow to discuss these and other actual issues.
ATOMEXPO 2012 International forum is to become the international platform for expert discussions on development strategy of atomic industry, NPP safety systems, staff training programs, international cooperation in the field of nuclear education and other topical issues.
Traditionally the Forum will frame an exhibition, expositions of the leading companies of the industry, including such companies as Rosatom State Atomic Energy Corporation, Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC, TVEL Fuel Company, EDF, AREVA, World Nuclear Association (WNA), OECD/NEA and others, will be presented there.
General sponsor of the event is Rosenergoatom Concern OJSC. The Forum will take place at Gostiny Dvor, Moscow.
